I have obviously disabled my bluetooth as my little Acer will not recognize the USB Kodak wireless bluetooth adapter for my all in one Kodak printer. Where is the bluetooth enabler hiding? I have talked to Kodak several times and they say it is the Acer and the bluetooth has to be enabled but going through the system we cannot find it.

G.729 codec in linphone

Running Manjaro, I installed linphone along with all required libraries from AUR. The application works well except for the fact that the codec list is incomplete. The G.729 codec, for instance is not available.

Any idea as to why I need to do for G.729 to be enabled? Thanks for your help.

Backup my Linux Box to a Windows Server

I am new to Linux and I have read the post "which backup tool".

After looking at some of the suggestions in existing post, I can not seem to find something that does what I want to do, at least not easily. Someone told me there was a command line DOS type utility I could use but I haven't seen anything like that.

I have a Linux Server running:

The Linux Box host vmware's Server which in turn host a virtual machine.

I need to backup the entire Linux Box to my Windows 2003 Server with the goal of being able to do a cold metal restore should the linux box fail. I am looking for something that I can schedule to do a full backup and has a restore utility built into it.

How do I install this printer on Linux Mint. I've downloaded the recommended driver (ip1500). This is the file: bjfilter-pixmaip1500-2.50-2.i386.rpm. Everything set up okay using add printer in Mint. But when I did a test page, nothing happened except a stall at 29 percent.

When I plugged this printer in it was detected (checked dmesg and /var/log/syslog) and CUPS could see it as well. However, when I printed a test page, the job appeared, but never printed. I suspected bad hardware, but installed printer on a Windows system and (sigh) it worked just fine once I downloaded the driver from HP web-site. Where did I go wrong?

SAMBA PDC Roaming Profiles Issue

Hi all

I am facing a problem.

I have configured SAMBA PDC on RHEL 6. Everything is going very smooth. Users are being logged in properly & their network drives (i-e; z: drives) are being shown. But either i login to Windows XP or Windows 7, user's profile does not get loaded. I get an error message, "You are logged in with a temporary profile". It would be so nice of you if anyone among you could guide me properly for how to resolve this issue.

Unix Commands - Find help

I'm trying to learn UNIX commands and I'm playing this game to learn and I'm really stuck at the moment. I'm in a server through ssh and the directory is full of random files and folders and the password for the next level is inside one of the files. I have been told that the file has the following attributes:

human-readable 1033 bytes non-executable

I am guessing that I should use the 'find' command and I tried " find ! -executable " but that returned a load of files. The only human-readable help I can find in the manual or online is printing out the file sizes in human readable. So I'm a bit lost there?

Also I did try " find ~ -size 1033b " but that returned nothing. But when I tried " find ~ -size -1033b " it returned every file in the directory.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have installed Asterisk 1.8 on slackware 13.1, php, mysql and apache.

I am later to install freepbx to help with reporting on VOIP activity. However, after installing asterisk, I am getting a segment fault.

My log file shows this:

darkstar kernel: asterisk[2660]: segfault at 800001c4f ip 00007ffff7514810 sp 00007fffffffcd48 error 4 in libc-2.11.1.so[7ffff7492000+16b000]

I have used gdb so that I can perform a backtrace however the program executes and exits without a stack thus not helpful.

Hi, I have an emachines desktop computer. Windows xp became corrupted and lost a file so I couldn't boot windows. I installed ubuntu via usb stick to replace xp. Ubuntu loads, and will work, but really slow, slow, slow. I think the emachines desktop has sufficient ram and memory to run ubuntu, but it is too slow to be of use. I would like to replace ubuntu with puppy linux, but I can't get puppy installed. I tried using a usb stick since the cd/dvd drive doesn't work. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards, John

loggedfs crashes system with “access: Transport endpoint is not connected”

I'm trying to use loggedfs to monitor my system changes, and it works great for some time, but then, eventually, it crashes and my fish shell starting to output "access: Transport endpoint is not connected" everytime I try to enter some command. To fix this, I have to login from other terminal as a root and run fusermount -zu <homeforlder> command to resolve that. Where should I look to find what causes such behavior of the system? Can someone point me where to look? Thx.

Command I run: loggedfs -f -p /home -c /home/sandric/loggedfs.xml

P.S. I actually working on web-frontend to loggedfs here and it crashes there, so if anyone can point it as an issue there, I will be appreciated too.

Error when configuring Linphone to use SIP (TLS) and ZRTP encryption

I am trying to configure Linphone to wrap all media communications in an encryption layer (on Xubuntu). According to their website, Linphone supports:

Secure communications (TLS, SRTP, zRTP)

However, when I try to configure Linphone in Options > Prefs > Network Settings > Network protocol and select SIP (TLS) then Linphone immediately complains with the following error message:

Could not start tls transport on port 5060, maybe this port is already used.

Linphone works just fine when I switch back to SIP (UDP).

What is wrong and how can I fix it?
