I would like to have an Ubuntu Live system that boots from USB and saves my changes. Everything is fine since the startup disk creator is included, but how can I turn off this annoying dialog at boot time that asks me if I want to install Ubuntu or just try it out? I want it to take me straight to the desktop. Thanks in advance |

Thanks for your answer, I found a little workaround: If you hit the escape key shortly after you began booting you see the menu you may know from the live cd. If you select the menuitem named 'Try Ubuntu now' (or something similar), it'll be a much quicker boot. |

This first link below will tell you how to do what you want to do.... but first a warning... installing Ubuntu to a USB (like you would onto any hard drive), is going to thrash the USB pretty quickly because of all of the read/write activity to the drive itself from the OS. I'd use at least a 4GB (and preferably an 8GB USB drive) to do this with.
