The system would say that the wireless network card was DISABLED - it worked about two weeks before just fine. Here's my tech blog with how I took care of this issue - hope it helps:

http://textbox.beelybox.com/?q=node/135
beelyTue, 24 May 2011 21:38:02 -0400http://linuxexchange.org/questions/307/wifi-in-ubuntu-1004/2563Comment by rfelsburg on kICKSTARTBUBBA's questionhttp://linuxexchange.org/questions/307/wifi-in-ubuntu-1004#2436
Please accept an answer so the question/answer can be finished. A simple ethernet (LAN) connection to your router will work.

How it tell if networkmanager as disables Networking or Wireless Networking. Right click on you network icon (should be around the top right of your screen unless you made changes) there will be able menu that pops up at the top of it are checkboxes to enable Networking and Wireless make sure both are checked.

The other issues seem to be covered well in other answers.
verbalshadowThu, 06 May 2010 19:23:42 -0400http://linuxexchange.org/questions/307/wifi-in-ubuntu-1004/340
