i m getting very confuse how to configured ip setting,host setting & dns setting with two lan card i mean how put ip in eth0 & how in eth1,& also how put on clients network configuration.

hi,

i was using virgin mobile datamax with windows.now i want to shift from windows to ubuntu linux 10.10.i face a problem.this os doesn't accept this datacard.

the device itself a modem plus usb.i have tried all options but nothing seems to be working.i am technically not that much sound.i am from india. any assistance?

Internet access issue

Hi, I am using mandriva 8 linux as my local server, all other pc's are connected to this server in workgroup, in which some pc's are windows and some are linux, my problem is when i am trying to access one url through browser (firefox) of our local server which is mandriva linux i can not access it, and also it is not working from linux machine connected to server but when i try to access same url from windows machine which is connected to this server.. its working.. I dont know what is happening actually.. please some one help..

HI, i just installed Debian Lenny on an old machine in console mode. I think i made a misconfiguration while installing becouse now i can't use apt to use the internet, although i have an active internet connection. Can anyone help me fix this ?

Connecting ubuntu internet apps

I have had some good advice as to how to connect my internet apps (which dont work) to the broadband modem which says it is connected. In response to one of the answers (from hippiejake) I gleaned the following from the terminal

This seems to show that the ethernet is connected to the internet, but the wlan interface isn't. Is this the problem. How do i change it back to normal - with wlan on the internet?

WiFi in Ubuntu 10.04

Have windows Vista and Ubuntu 10.04 on SAME hard drive in a Gateway T-1620 laptop, Vista uses Wifi but in Ubuntu it Fails and states message "Wireless is Disabled" Mt question is "How do I enable IT {wifi}. 60 year old Linux Newbie w/Experience looking for Answer
