I have a network of mostly Win XP machines, and one Win 7 Ultimate. I'm gradually converting all of them to dual-boot Ubuntu. Simple file-sharing in XP is turned off. All of the Windows machines are networked and mapped to each other.

I can see the XP machines from Ubuntu using Places->Network, and can access them. I can see the Win 7 machine, but cannot access it.

Also, I haven't found the Ubuntu equivalent of Windows' Map Network Drive.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Is the Windows 7 Ultimate PC using file system/hard drive encryption such as Bitlocker? Linux can read NTFS drives. (but to write to NTFS drives, you'll need to install ntfs-config or ntfs-3g, I forget which is the correct name of the program.)

Samba

Search for Samba in the software center. Also, gadmin tools has a very nice Samaba config front-end as well.

Thanks for the response.

None of the drives on any machine are encrypted.
