Using Ubuntu 10.4 netbook I find that everything launches full screen. Is there a way to set the default window size smaller?

Ubuntu Netbook Edition uses Maximus as the window manager. Maximus is a simple devipsie script that maximizes all windows not in a whitelist.

You have 3 options:

  1. Press alt-f5 to unminimize one window
  2. Add specific applications to the maximus whitelist
  3. Remove Maximus.

RE: Add specific applications to the maximus whitelist.

Could you give details on this? Where is the whitelist, what's the syntax for adding applications to the list, where should it be located and what should it be called if it doesn't already exist?

Thanks!
