I am puzzled as to why my computer MSI notebook which uses the Ralink RT73 drivers cannot connect to my WEP network even though it can see my network and other networks? All other distros like Ubuntu (and variants), FEDORA 13, Linuxmint 9, PCLinuxOS can easily connect to my WEP network. Is this because of Debian's outdated kernel? Hoping for a quick and newbie-friendly fix. |
Can it connect to open networks?
yes it can connect to non-wep and non-wpa networks. but i do not like to turn-off the wep just because of debian. there must be a fix somewhere because all other distros can connect to wep.
