Is it possible to password a directory under gnome, for example? |

Look into ecryptfs. http://www.rootninja.com/how-to-use-ecryptfs-on-fedora/ (since you tagged it fedora) |

Hi, An easier way in a graphical environment using the technology referenced by HurricaneHarry is this package: CryptManager |
Do you mean encrypt (as the first two answers assumed), or literally just password? If you just want to password them, you could just use file permissions.
