Does LinuxExchange have it's own IRC channel?

No for the same reason linuxquestions.org doesn't have one. So the answers are on a site so they can help more people.

I didn't necessarily mean for the asking and answering of questions, as you said that is what the site is for. I was thinking more along the lines of getting to know the users here and generally socialising.
